I wanted to thank you and the members of The Old Dundalk Society for your incredible work on your recent project about my Dad, “The Peter McArdle Story”. It brings so much joy and happiness to know that Dad is still thought about all these years later in

Dundalk. It was through your collaborative effort with the students at  Colaiste Ris that made this possible for another generation to learn about him. Perhaps, in the past

they may have passed his banner hanging as part of the Local Legends and not give it a second thought or look. Now, they can have a totally different prospective when they pass it.

I was able to watch a recording of the event and was delighted to be able to share it with my family. Frank and Patricia did an outstanding job working with the students over the five months and it was evident how proud they were of each and everyone of them!

As for myself, I learned a few things about Dad I didn’t know, such as the handicapped races and the Athletic Grounds and how much they played a part in Dundalk.

I also learned some Irish words.

So again on behalf of my family and myself a big Thank You!

Hopefully we can all meet up on my next trip over.

Warmest Regards

Maeve McArdle-Vinci
