The Old Dundalk Society’s Heritage Week event was a huge success, with over 140 people in attendance, which was held in St.Nicholas Parish Church, Dundalk. The theme of this year’s event was a focus on ‘Heritage at Risk’. The presentation on the evening was delivered by Mr Trevor Patterson, a member of the Church’s ‘Select Vestry’. Trevor’s presentation was very informative and well received by attendees. Following the visit to the church, a place of worship which is cherished by the people of Dundalk, a visit was then made to the Wellington School and Wellington Hall. Both these buildings have under gone extensive renovations in recent times, which has allowed the buildings to be preserved for use by future generations. The event concluded with light refreshments served in the Wellington Hall, where the attendees continued sharing their own stories of heritage buildings that once were at risk having been revamped and are now back in use again.
