The lecture on the Merryweather was presented by Jim Kerley (ex fireman and committee member of the Old Dundalk Society) who outlined the development of the fire service in Dundalk from the late 1800 hundred’s to the present day. Jim presentation was warmly received by the large attendance ,who were delighted to learn that the Merryweather engine was available to view in the Museum courtyard.
