1926 Census returns will be released tonight at one minute past midnight.
The 1926 Census of Ireland, featuring over 700,000 household returns, will be released online for free by the National Archives of Ireland on the 18th April 2026 . This release marks the 100-year anniversary of the first census conducted after the establishment of the Irish Free State, providing a vital snapshot of Irish life covering 2.9 million people
