A Hundred Years of Policing in Dundalk

Retired Garda Pat O Donoghue delivered a lecture on the ‘Policing History’ of Dundalk to a ‘Full House’ at the County Museum on Wednesday last. Pat had spent most of his service in the Dundalk area and had accumulated a wide range of material and photographs on the subject matter over the years.

The presentation itself was enthusiastically delivered by Pat, who gave the audience a wonderful insight into ‘Policing’ in Dundalk over the last hundred years. Very rare photographs of policing activities in the Dundalk were presented as part of the lecture. The lecture was indeed a unique event, as most of the material used (came from Pat’s own private collection) and had never been seen by the general public before.
