Summer Excursion on Saturday 8th June, all day visit to County Cavan.
Luxury coach with accompanying guide (Michael Gaynor) will depart from Mulholland Avenue Dundalk on Saturday 8th June. Meeting at 8.15 am, Coach LEAVING 8.30 am Sharp.
Our First Stop will be to Errigal Country House Hotel Cootehill where we will have tea/coffee and scones in the hotel. All the following visits will be as guided tours.
(1) We will visit Corravahan House and Gardens, located in Drung Co. Cavan. Corravahan House & Gardens is a listed 1840’s Georgian style house and gardens.
(2) We will then visit the ruins of Drumlane Abbey. This fascinating monastic site hosts an abbey, a monastery and a round tower.
(3) A visit to Cavan town is next where we can then enjoy some free time for lunch and take the opportunity to explore the town. (Lunch at your own expense)
(4) After lunch, we will visit the award-winning Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff. The museum contains fascinating artefacts dating from the Stone Age through to the 20th century. We will also get an opportunity to see what life was like on the battlefield at the World War 1 Trench Experience. After leaving Ballyjamesduff, we will go directly to the Cavan Crystal Hotel for dinner.
Departing for home immediately after dinner:
The all-in tour subscription is €75, included in this figure is coach fare, morning tea/coffee scones, dinner, all gratuities, and admission charges. (except lunch).
