Old Dundalk Society on Tour
Old Dundalk Society Summer Excursion Saturday 1st July 2023 will visit the Fingal area of Dublin and the Botanic Gardens Glasnevin.
Meeting at Mullholland Avenue Dundalk at 8.45 am, Coach LEAVING 9.00 am Sharp.
Our First Stop on our tour will be to Skerries Mills where we will have tea/coffee and freshly made scones in the Café, and a guided tour of the historic site. Their craft shop and a Farmers Market also available on the day.
The second stop on the tour will be in Swords, County Dublin where we will visit Swords Castle, which has been recently renovated by the Office of Public Works (OPW). Afterwards we can then enjoy some free time for lunch (at your own expense) and take the opportunity to explore the town of Swords.
After our visit to Swords, we will then head for the Botanic Gardens (Glasnevin) where we will enjoy a guided tour of the famous gardens which are currently looking resplendent with summer colour.
Leaving Glasnevin, heading Northwards we will proceed directly to Donegan’s Restaurant at Monasterboice, for a sumptuous 4 course dinner. Departing for home directly after dinner, arriving back in Dundalk between 8.00 and 8.30pm (approx.)
Luxury coach with accompanying guide (Michael Gaynor) will depart from Mulholland Avenue on Saturday 1st July. The all-in tour subscription is €60 for members, and €65 for non-members.
Included in this figure is coach fare, morning tea/coffee scones, dinner, all gratuities and admission charges. Bookings can be made at: Connell and Co. Drapers, Church Street, Dundalk and must be accompanied by full subscription. Booking commences on Tuesday 20th June, and the latest date for booking is Thursday morning 29th June. Intending participants are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
